Project Description
Why have new radiators?
Quality radiators are becoming increasingly important to improve the efficiency of central heating systems and helping to reduce energy bills, especially if your current radiators are more than 15yrs old.
Radiator technology has advanced greatly, now offering smaller radiators that are able to emit just as much heat, if not more, with less energy expended. This is due to the more efficient design with better internal channelling meaning more of the radiator metal is in contact with the hot water with much less water actually required in the radiator.
When to have new radiators?
It is highly recommended that if you are replacing an old, inefficient boiler with a new efficient one that you also invest the extra money to replace your radiators at the same time. This is because the new boilers impact on increasing the efficiency of your heating will not be seen to its full potential if it’s having to pump water through dirty inefficient radiators.
The most common issue with old radiators is the corrosion on the inside. When water runs through the central heating system it reacts with the metal inside the pipework and radiators which can cause small flakes to break off into the water. These tend to settle in the bottom of radiators causing a sludge like substance causing commons side effects such as cold patches or lukewarm radiators and generally higher heating bills.
The advancements in radiators over the last few years has seen many modern designs including the popularity of the vertical radiator, and differing colours and styles. For those of you with period properties there are also a range of new column radiators that will keep the tradition in your property while maintaining efficiency.
Whatever your desire, whether it’s a full system installation, replacing a leaky radiator or you’re just wanting to modernise one room, we can certainly help. Our engineer will come and offer friendly and free advice and support on the best options to suit you and your home for the best possible price.
